Myrtle Beach South Carolina, Local Art.

Carla Tyree studied commercial art and advertising at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.  She moved to Myrtle Beach in 1995 where she carried art in galleries and stores throughout the Myrtle Beach Area.  In 2002' she started her online business under the name "Pendragon Artworks" and has sold nationwide in 43 states, Canada, U.K, Australia, and Switzerland.  She opened a store front under "Tortoise N' Hare" with her business partner in April 2007, then took on the business herself in March of 2008 renaming it,  "The Painted Banana"   The storefront is a variety of Carla's and other local artist's artwork such as hand-worked wood, ceramics, jewlry, clay, etc.  located on Fourth Avenue in Conway, South Carolina outside of Myrtle Beach.  Carla does quite a bit of pop art, oil paintings, pet portraits, but also does realistic art in murals and hand-painted furniture.  You can buy or have custom art made in the store, or online.  She also teaches kids art classes in the store, for homeschooled children, and the autism foundation located in Surfside.   For Contact you can either visit the gallery "The Painted Banana" in Conway or email pendrag@sccoast.net.
